چکیده

The ocean wave distribution in a specific region of space and time is described by its sea state. Knowledge about the states ship encounters on journey can be used to assess various parameters risk wear associated with this journey. Two important characteristics state are significant height mean period. We propose joint spatial model these two quantities north Atlantic ocean. describes logarithm as bivariate Gaussian random field, modeled solution system coupled fractional stochastic partial differential equations. field non-stationary allows for arbitrary, different, smoothness marginal fields. estimated from data using stepwise maximum likelihood method. fitted derive accumulated fatigue damage sailing transatlantic route. Also, method estimating capsizing due broaching-to based investigated. risks calculated route between America Europe both model. results show that compares well observed data. It further shows needed cannot simply approximated alone.

Error Analysis on ESA's Envisat ASAR Wave Mode Significant Wave Height Retrievals Using Triple Collocation Model

Nowadays, spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has become a powerful tool for providing significant wave height (SWH). Traditionally, validation of SAR derived SWH has been carried out against buoy measurements or model outputs, which only yield an inter-comparison, but not an “absolute” validation. In this study, the triple collocation error model has been introduced in the validation of ...

Significant Wave Height Comparisons 13 etween TOPEX and Platform Harvest

Two sources of H113 estimates were available at Platform Harvest; a NOAA buoy and CU depth sensor highrate data. H113 estimates from the NOAA buoy were based on twenty minutes of data every hour, CU pressure measurements were taken every 1.1 seconds. For purposes of this paper, H113 estimates from the (7U depth sensor were based on one hour of data, This paper compares H113 measurements from TO...

A Survey on the Significant Wave Height of the Ocean Using Soft Computing Techniques

The applications of information technology as a continuous process of monitoring the various ocean parameters such as salinity, temperature, the number of waves, the movement of fish, soil and turbidity. However, there is a sporadic attempt in assessing the wave heights which is one of the important parameters to project the roughness of the sea and the smoothness of the sea bed. Once a boat ma...
